Typhonium
Typhonium is a genus in the Araceae family, currently comprising 72 species. Typhonium are found in Eastern and Southern Asia, New Guinea, and Australia. In 2000, the genus Sauromatum and Typhonium was combined under the typhonium name, but in 2010, with the advent of better DNA testing, the two genera were once again separated.
Typhonium was a focus of our adjunct researcher, Alan Galloway, who passed away in 2020, so this gallery is to celebrate his work, and continue to recognize many of the new species that he was working to describe when he passed away.
